The following paintings are a selection from the series I am, You are, We are. The work came from a desire to explore vulnerability in the public space. Using the Central Market in Florence as this space, I struck up conversation with strangers. I asked them about their fears, their passions, their goals and recorded these conversations. During these encounters I sketched them and from these sketches, photographs taken, and the recordings, painted their portraits back in my studio. The works were exhibited in the Consiglio Regionale della Toscana in Florence, Italy
